On the eighth day of Navratri, we worship Maa Mahagauri. Her form is radiant, serene, and filled with divine calmness. She is called Mahagauri because her complexion is as white and pure as the sacred river Ganga. Maa Mahagauri is considered the Goddess of purity, patience, and inner peace.

Her form teaches youth that true strength in life comes when the mind is calm and the soul is pure.

  • Maa Mahagauri rides a white bull (Nandi), symbolizing honesty and strength.

  • She has four hands – holding a trident in one, a damru in another, while the remaining two are in blessing and protection gestures.
